Rins was training on his push bike on the Barcelona circuit on Thursday when he fell and broke his right arm.
After an examination at the Universitari Dexeus Hospital in Barcelona, Rins has been declared unfit and will suspend his home game in Barcelona.
His fracture has been set and he will be operated on Friday to correct the injury.
This is a major blow to Rins’ title hopes after making it to the GP weekend in Catalonia after four consecutive racing accidents, placing him 82 points behind Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo at the top of the overall standings.
In a brief statement from Suzuki: “Alex Rins was banned from his home GP after a bike accident.
“The Team Suzuki Ecstar rider unfortunately has to skip the Grand Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya due to an unfortunate accident he suffered this morning while training on his bike on the track.
“The Spaniard fell during a training lap and injured his right arm, with a big bruise and severe pain.
“He was quickly taken to the Universitari Dexeus hospital in Barcelona for further examination and medical examinations revealed a fracture in the radius bone.
“The fracture has been immobilized and he’ll have an operation tomorrow morning to repair it.
“More information will be provided in future updates.”

Suzuki has since confirmed that it will not use a replacement for Rins, although test driver Sylvain Guintoli is on site for BT Sport in Barcelona doing the post-race test on Monday.
“It’s a shame what happened today,” said Rins.
“I really wanted to drive here in Montmelo and show a solid performance so that I could get back on the track after some tough races.
“Tomorrow I will have an operation and then we will discuss the time for recovery.
“We will definitely work very hard to get the feeling back asap and try to get back quickly.
“I don’t know yet if I’m ready for the German GP, but I’ll work hard to be fit by then. Thank you for the messages of support. “
Rins won’t recover long until the German GP on June 20 at the Sachsenring, before heading to Assen a week later.
This is the second season in a row that Rins missed races due to injury after he retired at the Spanish GP last year when he broke his shoulder in an accident in qualifying.
