This was the first win for Marquez and Honda since 2019 when he won the MotoGP of Valencia
Honda’s Marc Marquez won the German Grand Prix, his first victory since 2019.
For the 28-year-old, it was the third podium in a row and his eleventh victory in a row at the Sachsenring.
The Spaniard, six-time world champion, returned to this season Broken arm at the Spanish Grand Prix last July.
The Portuguese Miguel Oliveira was second ahead of the championship leader Fabio Quartararo in third.
“The win was probably small, but when I saw a few drops on laps four and five, I thought, ‘This is my race,'” said Marquez.
“It was hard to concentrate because of all the memories and all the sensations from the past year.”
The French Quartararo kept his position at the top of the World Cup ranking and is 22 points ahead of his compatriot Johann Zarco, who finished eighth.
