Maverick Viñales’ exit from Yamaha forced Yamaha to look for an elite rider for 2022 at the last minute, with Miguel Oliveira being one of the riders investigated by the Japanese factory. The Portuguese confirmed the approach this Friday but remembered that he has a contract with KTM.
Speaking to the media in Almada, where Motorcycle Sports was, the Portuguese commented on the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team’s interest in his services:
