MotoGP, Espargarò’s bet with Aprilia: “the RSW 500 with one podium, the RS Cube with two”

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a pure enthusiast or a MotoGP rider, as anyone who loves motorcycles can’t resist the lure of a two-stroke engine fired up. The 250 GPs on the Aprilia All Stars Day, a party dedicated to the Noale manufacturer that unfortunately had to take place behind closed doors, were once again one of the most admired bikes in Misano.

Not even Aleix Espargarò could withstand the call and wanted to try the RSV. with which he drove in the world championship from 2007 to 2009. However, the Spaniard wanted to try the RSA, the factory version of the 250 Aprilia, which he had never driven before, as he had previously driven the LE, the version intended for privateers.

He enjoyed the experience so much and as you know the more you have the more you want! So Aleix wanted to make a bet with the Noale bosses with a view to the All Stars 2022. The conditions are simple: if he makes it to the podium in MotoGP this season, he’ll be able to try the RSW-2 next year, the two-stroke twin that Aprilia rode with Romboni, Harada and McWilliams in 500 . But that’s not all: with a second place on the podium, he then wanted to try out the RS Cube, the three-cylinder prototype with which the Noale manufacturer made its MotoGP debut in 2002. An innovative project that unfortunately only had a short life and was unable to show its full potential.

At this point only Espargarò has to be cheered on, because seeing these two motorcycles on the track would be a gift not only for the Spaniard, but for all fans.
