Yamaha will introduce at Sepang the final engine version for 2023

Yamaha are working hard on the engine for next season’s MotoGP season, aiming to make up a lot of ground in this area of the bike, where it has fallen short of its own expectations. Lin Jarvis – Managing Director at Yamaha Motor Racing and Principal Team Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP – knows there is still time to develop as there will not be a finalized version before the Sepang tests in February.

To Crash.net, one of Yamaha’s strongest men in MotoGP assured that factory team riders Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli were encouraged by the engine tested at Misano last September:

– We did a test after Misano [in September], Fabio and Frankie rode the new spec, and they were quite entheniastic. We never know what our competitors are going to do, but I think our development is definitely in the right direction.

As for the introduction of the final version of the new engine, Jarvis pointed to when this should happen: ‘The final generation of next year’s engine will come at Sepang. So we still have three to four months to continue to develop and perfect the engine.’
