2022 MotoGP Final: Valencia GP to decide between Bagnaia, Quartararo’s shot to title

2022 MotoGP Final: Valencia GP to decide between Bagnaia, Quartararo's shot to title

The very last race weekend of the season is upon us. It all comes down to the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) has a 23-point lead over Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) coming into the final round of the 2022 MotoGP season. Who are you supporting?
Here’s how both riders can claim their maiden premier class title:
Bagnaia, World Champion in Valencia if…
– Quartararo doesn’t win
– He finishes P14 or higher
– He finishes P15 and Quartararo doesn’t win
Should things go the way of Pecco this weekend, he will have completed the biggest-ever title turnaround in MotoGP history, recovering from a 91-point deficit following an inspired run of form.
Quartararo, World Champion in Valencia if…
– He wins and Bagnaia is P15 or lower
The math for Quartararo is simple: the Frenchman must win to stand any chance of retaining his MotoGP title. Anything less will hand Bagnaia the 2022 crown.

With history on the line for Ducati, the message is, as a bare minimum: do not get anywhere close to being the reason for a last-minute heartbreak. And that message goes out to a third of the grid: Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team), Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing MotoGP), Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing), Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing), Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing MotoGP).
The fascinatingly tense few days in Valencia will lead to the final qualifier and race this weekend. The qualifying race will be on 5th November at 19.05 and the final on Sunday, 6th November at 18.30. Fans in India can catch the races LIVE at Eurosport and Discovery+ app.
