Jonathan Rea adds and leaves and this weekend was once again the highlight of the Superbike World Championship at Assen as he reached his full potential. By choosing the right tires, the driver gave much of the success for victory to the team.
“It was nice to make three out of three here in Assen. We did it after changing the rear tire choice yesterday. Because of the nightly rain, the track’s grip was a little less and the temperature maybe three or four degrees lower. We thought this would be the transition point for the SC0. It was nice to win with the soft tire option yesterday and the standard racing tire option today [yesterday]“, Said the Briton in an official team statement, before he again praised the team for their work, also with regard to the changes made to the bike:
– It’s massive evidence of the guys in the pit lane and what they did. We made a pretty big suspension change to the setup this weekend and it was easier to ride. You could see that on my passports, I could place the bike where I wanted and it was very manoeuvrable, but also stable in the fast sections. I went over first this morning to see the flooding on the track, considering how much rain there was last night – and there was a lake at turn five! So great respect for the track and everyone in Assen, because they had a lot of machines there, two fire engines, three tankers and I think we were only 45 minutes late this morning. You did an amazing job.
