After leaving Tech3 KTM, Iker Lecuona will practically be out of the MotoGP World Championship in 2022. He doesn’t want to return to Moto2. The Superbike World Championship, on the other hand, has a number of openings, including one on the official Honda team – Team HRC.

When asked if it might be an option to place Álvaro Bautista at Honda, Iker Lecuona has neither confirmed nor denied the possibility, but stressed that he only knows that he will not be relegated to Moto2:
– I can not say anything. […] . I need to talk to my manager, see and decide where to go. What is clear is that I’m not going to Moto2 because I think you have to have the mentality to go to Moto2 and I don’t have it. That’s why I don’t go where I don’t want to be. If I have to leave the championship, I go, it doesn’t hurt, if I have to stay, I stay.
