‘Fabio Quartararo completed a season of more or less’ – Alex Criville

Fabio Quartararo seemed, for most of the season, on course to renew the MotoGP title won last year. However, he couldn’t maintain the momentum and gradually lost ground finishing second to 17 points behind champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).

Former rider Alex Criville told Woonkly, quoted in the newspaper Marca, that it was a downward campaign on the part of the frenchman from Monster Energy Yamaha, considering that the technical factor – the YZR-M1 was less competitive than the Desmosedici GP22 – was just one of the reasons:

– Fabio Quartararo completed a season of more or less for several reasons. There is never a single reason for a concrete fact, but the technical factor was one of them, although it was not the only one.

The 1999 world champion also said: ‘Each season the evolution of the bikes depends exclusively on the evolution of your opponents. Sometimes, despite having done a good job, there is someone who was faster and more prepared’.
