In case you missed last week’s episode, iMotorbike’s weekly iM Cubaholic series covers everything about the iconic Honda Cubs. The Cub is one of the most important motorcycles in motorcycle and Honda history. With the introduction of the Super Cub and the “You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda” advertising campaign in the 1950s, Honda changed the way people ride motorcycles. Since then, Honda has sold over 100 million Cubs with a large Cub range / variants, some models of which are barely known. In this series, we’ll cover everything from familiar and unfamiliar Cub models to theirs; History, specs, features, and more. Are you a Cub Addict? Well this is something you don’t want to miss!

In the last episode we presented the Cub Chopper from 2LOUD Custom. However, since iM Cubaholic is a series dedicated to Honda Super Cub fans, we decided to introduce one of the most important Cub events in the history of Honda Super Cub.

Honda Super Cub 100 million memorial race

Since its first debut in 1958, the Honda Super Cub has been loved by everyone around the world. Three years ago, in 2017, the Super Cub produced more than 100 million units. To achieve this milestone, Honda organized the Honda Super Cub 100 Million Memorial Race held during the Honda Racing thank you in 2017.

The race took place on December 3, 2017 at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Japan. The starting grid had a total of 14 participants from numerous racing teams. This included drivers from the HRC MotoGP team to MXGP, JSB, WCT and even racing drivers from Super Formula. Yes, you read the subtitle right! Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa also took part in the race!

When choosing the machine, Honda chose the Super Cub 110 in the official racing livery of the drivers. Driven by a 109 cc single cylinder four-stroke engine, the Honda Super Cub 110 develops 8.1 hp at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 8.50 Nm at 5500 rpm.Do you think it is not enough?
