Fireblade enters 200 hp club! Stunning looking 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R revealed

The Fire Blade is back in the game and how! The new 2020 model will get an extra “R” in its name when it enters the 200 horsepower superbike club and loses some weight. This is all about the brand new Honda CBR1000RR-R and when it can land in India.

The all-new Honda CBR1000RR-R was recently unveiled and looks stunning to say the least. The new generation of the Fireblade is a major departure compared to the outgoing model as it is now included in the 200 hp Superbike Club, meets strict Euro V emissions standards and is significantly lighter. The new Honda CBR1000RR-R was inspired by the HRC MotoGP machine, which is clearly evident in the massive air intake between the two sharp-looking LED headlights and the aero winglets on the sides. The 2020 model shows the main focus on improved performance and thus receives better aerodynamics. The motorcycle’s fuel tank has been lowered to allow the rider to better hide behind the windshield for faster lap times.

The in-line four-cylinder engine of the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is derived from the same engine that powers the MotoGP specification RC213V. The engine of the new model is well suited to achieve a maximum power of 214 hp, while the maximum torque is 113 Nm. As already mentioned, the new CBR1000RR-R is losing weight and the new one now weighs 201 kg. Engineers have managed to keep the bike lightweight through the use of an aluminum frame and many other changes.

Just like the current generation model, there is also a Premium SP version aimed at better performance. The standard model has Showa piston reversing forks at the front and a Showa monoshock at the rear. On the other hand, the SP version has a semi-active suspension system from Ohlins. The braking power of the new Fireblade is provided by means of two 330mm front disc brakes with Nissin monoblocks for the standard version and Brembo Stylema calipers for the SP fairing.

The bike’s electronics package has also been heavily redesigned and the bike now has a six-axis IMU, cornering ABS and a nine-stage traction control system. The new Fireblade now has a 5-inch color TFT screen with a new graphic layout. The launch of the new model in India could come at a higher price compared to the current model in the middle of next year, although we still expect a competitive model. Fingers crossed!
