The Suzuki MotoGP team will have an unchanged rider line-up until the end of the 2022 MotoGP World Championship season after agreeing with Joan Mir to stay alongside Alex Rins.
The Spaniard only made his full-time Grand Prix debut in 2016. After winning the Moto3 World Championship in 2017 and an impressive sixth place in his Moto2 rookie season in 2018, he rose to MotoGP with Suzuki in 2019.
I got fit quickly and showed strong form flashes over the year, culminating in fifth place at Phillip Island, though his season was interrupted by an injury reportedly caused by a high-speed accident while testing at Brno that left parts of his GSX -RR hanging in the trees.
Towards the end of 2019 and during the tests in the preseason 2020, in which both drivers were among the front runners, the contract extension with Suzuki had long been expected.
