Alex Rins and Carlos Sainz challenged each other in Madrid with motorcycles and cars, but with remote control. The MotoGP and Formula 1 drivers were special guests at an event organized by sponsor Estrella Galicia. This was an opportunity to look back on 2016 and to look to the future.
Rins’ experience with Suzuki wasn’t the best start as he crashed and injured two vertebrae on the first test in Valencia.
“I’m recovering, I’ve been home with braces all month – he tells us – I got back on a bike for training last Thursday and I felt good. Now I’m just thinking about next year. Moving to MotoGP means a big change in my life in general. All drivers dream of reaching the top category with a works team. In Valencia I was able to test the Suzuki and admit the sensations were incredible. “
However, the training was discontinued due to his injury.
“I looked at it as a test to adjust and see how it all works – he continued – because of that I haven’t used a lot of the electronic controls and even so I noticed a huge difference in terms of the Moto2 . I crashed on day two which was a shame because I lost all day, but my first MotoGP experience was fantastic. “
Alex then commented on Rosberg’s resignation.
“It’s understandable, but I don’t really get it to be honest. If you win, you should keep defending the title”He concludes.
