Red Bull Ring calls the Repsol Honda Team

Forecasts predict a wet and wild Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring as Alex Marquez and Stefan Bradl want to start a rejuvenated challenge.

The MotoGP World Championship arrives for the first of two races at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. It’s been a busy weekend for the Repsol Honda team but both riders are ready to leave the weekend behind and focus on adapting their respective Repsol Honda RC213V machines to the Austrian circuit. With a length of 4.3 kilometers, the Red Bull Ring is characterized by strong braking and strong acceleration and has delivered unforgettable final laps in recent years.

After three hot weekends, the weather is expected to change at the Austrian Motorcycle Grand Prix, with heavy rain forecasted throughout the weekend. Wet riding will be another new challenge for MotoGP rookie Alex Marquez, but the Moto2 World Champion has adapted quickly to the wet in the past. Marquez is currently in second place in the rookie of the year classification and would like to continue his perfect run of the points classification in the premier class this weekend.

Stefan Bradl will rejoin the Repsol Honda team and stand up for the recovering Marc Marquez. It was a busy weekend in Brno for Bradl as he adjusted to the RC213V 2020 and worked through a number of points for HRC. Although he ended up outside of the points, Bradl made strong progress over the course of the Czech weekend. The German joined the Honda works team at the Red Bull Ring last year and finished in 13th place. With that he returned to the points he had planned for his second weekend on board the RC213V.

The action on the Red Bull Ring begins at 09:55 local time with free practice 1 with a 90% chance of rain.
