The Repsol Honda Team returns to the Red Bull Ring

For the second time in 2020, the MotoGP World Championship will race on the same track, with both Alex Marquez and Stefan Bradl optimistic about improving their pace.

The Styrian Grand Prix will make its debut in the MotoGP World Championship this week from August 21st to 23rd at the high-speed Red Bull Ring. As in Jerez, a second Grand Prix on the same track offers the Repsol Honda Team the unique opportunity to further improve and refine the set-up of the Honda RC213V.

Back-to-back races in Jerez were a big advantage for rookie Alex Marquez, who achieved his best MotoGP result to date at the Andalusia GP with eighth place. Although Alex and his side of the garage were dissatisfied with how the restarted race went, they took a few steps forward in the first Austrian race and will continue to work, as the rookie learns. Alex’s goal for the weekend remains clear: reduce his gap forward.

Stefan Bradl will continue to stand in for the injured Marc Marquez, the HRC test driver who is assembling the RC213V for the third time. Bradl had an intense test schedule for the race weekend so far and was collecting valuable data for Honda. Above all, the German is hoping for a weekend with constant weather after missing two sessions due to rain last weekend.

As always, the promotion for the premier class begins on Friday, August 21, at 9:55 a.m. local time.
