The world press joined the two world champions at Repsol’s headquarters in Madrid to unveil the paint scheme in which they will pursue the 2019 crown.

Marc Márquez and Jorge Lorenzo have won eight of the last nine world championships in the premier class and form a perfect team to celebrate the 25th anniversary of HRC and Repsol. The first riders, Mick Doohan and Alex Crivillé to run in these now iconic colors, were also able to take part in the special presentation to share their memories from 1995 onwards.

The drivers were joined by Tetsuhiro Kuwata, Director of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), and Antonio Brufau, CEO of Repsol, who outlined and emphasized their plans for continued success. Carmelo Ezpleta, CEO of Dorna and Begoña Elices, Director General for Communications and Board Member at Repsol, were also present.

From the Honda NSR500 from Doohan and Crivillé to the RC213V from Márquez to Lorenzo, the HRC machines have achieved 168 premier class wins, 14 world championships, 427 podiums, 182 fastest laps and 177 pole positions along with Repsol’s most iconic couple in the Grand Prix racing, but also the most successful. Among these awards, the Repsol Honda Team has also produced four dominant titles for Mick Doohan, the first Spanish 500cc world champion in Alex Crivillé (1999) and the youngest MotoGP ™ champion in history – Marc Márquez. Now they are celebrating their 25th anniversary and are striving for even more success in the future.

Marc Marquez will now begin his final preparations for the Sepang test (February 6-8), where he and the RC213V will debut the livery for the first time on the track in 2019. In the meantime, Jorge Lorenzo will start intensive physiotherapy to be as fit as possible for the Qatar test (February 23-25). Finally, the 2019 MotoGP ™ season kicks off under the spotlight in Qatar (March 7-10).
