Repsol Honda Team wants to regroup in Barcelona

After a difficult Italian GP on and off the track, Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro want to get back to work and back to where they know they can be.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Montmelo will host the seventh round of the MotoGP World Championship in 2021, the circuit in Barcelona is a mainstay of the Grand Prix calendar. 2021 presents a revised layout at Turn 10 so that the drivers can now master the changes to improve safety. Sunday’s 24-lap MotoGP race is sure to be another exciting affair as the season continues to advance rapidly.

For the first time since returning from injury, Marc Marquez will compete on consecutive weekends. This represents a unique test of his physical condition and the eight-time world champion is ready for the weekend as it comes. During his career in the premier class, Marquez has won the Catalonia GP twice and only missed the podium once – in 2015 when he fell in the battle for the lead. Marquez’s goal for the weekend remains the same as he looks to improve both himself and the Repsol Honda Team RC213V over the course of the Grand Prix.

The Montmelo circuit is a real home race for Pol Espargaro from Granollers, his hometown less than ten kilometers from the track. After a compromised race in Mugello, Espargaro wants to organize a trouble-free and constant weekend on home soil. Flashes of progress, like in Free Practice 3 in Italy, let the # 44 look optimistically into the future. Espargaro was in the top ten three times in the premier class at the Catalonia GP after winning the Moto2 race in 2013.
