An almost perfect start to the 2021 season for defending champion Adriaan_26 when he finished first and second in the opening round of the eSport season.
The highly anticipated 2021 MotoGP eSport Championship is finally here and Adriaan_26 of the Repsol Honda Team has wasted no time in announcing his intentions for the year. A race at Portimao and a second at the Mugello circuit opened the virtual season for the 11 drivers who were battling for glory.
For Portimao, Adriaan_26 was on the offensive from sixth on the grid and steadily worked his way through the field. The constant racing pace brought the Repsol Honda Team’s machine to the top step of the podium and began an exciting opening weekend. 0.402s separated him and Trast73 when they came across the line.
In Mugello Adrian ‘Adriaan_26’ Montenegro on board the Repsol Honda Team powered by OMEN was prepared to fight for the podium again with a start from the front row. Right behind AndrewZH and Trast73, the trio shot off the line and immediately battled their way into Turn 1. There was an early challenge from Adrian’s brother Williams_Cristian on the Suzuki, but the race soon turned into a battle between Trast73 and Adriaan_26. Only 0.713 seconds separated the two at the finish line, with the Repsol Honda Team rider securing a safe second place.
This means that Adriaan_26 and Trast73 are tied at the top of the championship. The next round of the MotoGP eSport Championship takes place on August 13th with virtual action from the Sachsenring and the Red Bull Ring.
