Dutch GP: Vinales beats Quartararo for pole

The Spaniard and his team-mate Fabio Quartararo went head-to-head in an exciting qualifying race, with the leader of the FIM MotoGP World Championship 2021 being satisfied with P2 ahead of Q1 graduate Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team).

Two Yamahas lead a Ducati in the front row when Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) has to start from P20 in the Motul TT Assen.

Dutch GP: Vinales fastest on a rainy day

Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu) decided it was his turn to sit in the provisional front row as he finished fourth, one place ahead of Johann Zarco of Pramac Racing, who had taken pole at the Sachsenring.

Alex Rins suffered a late fall at Turn 8 but is uninjured and will start from P8 with leading Suzuki, Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) in 8th and 9th respectively in third Row.

The qualifying battles of reigning world champion Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) continued as the Spaniard starts from P10.

Pol Espargaro (Repsol Honda Team) is the second fastest Honda rider in P11, the Spaniard is 0.089 seconds ahead of twelfth Valentino Rossi (Petronas Yamaha SRT).

After a crash in Q1, Marquez will start from his worst qualifying position in the premier class on P20, as the Sachsenring winner and fourth-placed Brad Binder (Red Bull Factory Racing) had a tough afternoon in Assen – P21 for the South African.
