Garrett Gerloff goes to Donington Park – the third new route in three weeks for the American who is fully focused on WorldSBK.
After another promising MotoGP show last weekend in Assen, Gerloff’s name was touted for one of the 2022 Yamaha MotoGP seats.
But so far Gerloff has not heard anything concrete about a MotoGP change and instead wants to continue his “happy experience” with GRT Yamaha.
Gerloff added: “At the moment I haven’t heard anything. I’m definitely very satisfied with GRT.” [Yamaha] and my experience here for the past couple of years for World Superbike.

“That’s definitely my main focus right now and basically I want to keep focusing on that and trying to do the best I can.
“But one day it has always been my dream and my goal to go to MotoGP. One day I definitely want to end up there.”

Gerloff is still looking for his first WorldSBK podium of the season – but to get there this weekend you have to get to know another track quickly – third in three weeks.
“Yes, it’s the third track that I have to learn in three weeks. I had to learn Navarra (two-day WorldSBK test), then Assen last weekend and now Donington,” said Gerloff.
“At least I’ve been practicing a bit the last few days. It looks like a really fun track online, the videos I’ve been watching, and so on.
“I know the Yamaha has generally been a strong bike here in the past, which definitely inspires confidence.
“So I’m really looking forward to getting out tomorrow and doing as many laps as possible.”
