The MotoGP season ended its first half with Johann Zarco in second place, 34 points behind leader Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha). A considerable disadvantage that the Pramac man could shorten on his return with two laps in Austria – on an otherwise strong track for Ducati.
In an interview with Motosprint, the Frenchman emphasized that he hopes not only to use Desmosedici’s good potential at the Red Bull Ring, but also to advance in the second part of the season in order to be a real opponent for Quartararo:
– The track is very good for the bike, it would be good to have an advantage. I intend to put into practice everything I learned in that first part of the season to take a step forward and really be a direct rival to Fabio. To really fight for the championship: I’m second, but at the moment he’s faster than us.
