The Styria GP had the parts of a strong weekend, but a disturbed Sunday left the Repsol Honda team unhappy.
The MotoGP World Championship returns to the Red Bull Ring in Austria for the eleventh round of the season with the second one-two of the year. The Styrian Grand Prix went well for the Repsol Honda Team until Sunday afternoon, Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro showed speed in wet and dry GP.
Marc Marquez returns to the track knowing that he has shown the speed in the battle for top positions and will try to further refine the setup of his Honda RC213V to challenge the front runners again. At the first start of the race, Marquez fought his way into the top 5 and looked confident. Marquez and his team are aiming for this speed on Sunday as well. Marquez is currently tenth in the world championship with 58 points.
Pol Espargaro’s main goal for the weekend is to fix the lack of traction he had in race one. The solid race pace and the speed in the wet training showed that the # 44 has more to offer than its results last Sunday showed. With 41 points, Espargaro is currently 14th overall in the championship standings.
The Repsol Honda Team will be back on track for Free Practice 1 on Friday at 09:55 a.m. local time.
