MotoGPs Vinales suspended from his own team | southern Cross

The Spanish MotoGP star Maverick Vinales was withdrawn from the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend by his own Yamaha team “due to the unexplained irregular use of the motorcycle by the driver” during the Styrian Grand Prix last weekend. Yamaha announced on Thursday that Vinales will not be replaced at the Spielberg race that Sunday. Yamaha said “an in-depth analysis of telemetry and data over the past few days” indicates that “the rider’s actions could have potentially caused significant damage to the engine … all other riders.” Vinales, who will soon be leaving the team, finished the last race in the pit lane after electronic problems reported him to the pits. “Decisions about future races will be made after a more detailed analysis of the situation and further discussions between Yamaha and the rider,” said Yamaha.
