MotoGP, Brno. First Covid case in the paddock: He is a member of Dorna

After more than 5,500 tests carried out on all paddock personnel before participating in the GPs of Spain, Andalusia and the Czech Republic, a person in the paddock of the FIM MotoGP World Championship tested positive for Covid-19. The result was returned in tests before the Austrian Grand Prix. The person is a member of the Dorna Sports team and is asymptomatic.

After the positive result, which arrived early Saturday, the person was immediately informed and isolated at their hotel. Another test was then carried out to confirm the result. This second test also turned out positive and therefore the employee and all close contacts remain isolated.

The local health authorities will now decide on the length of self-isolation they will have to carry out.

As a precautionary measure, the championship decided to test all individuals with secondary contact with the individual and each of them returned a negative result.
