MotoGP, the Andorra circuit reopens: 22 riders can train, but in groups

Andorra has 22 professional riders, 9 of whom are in MotoGP. So far, they have only been able to train on a trial bike due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus epidemic, but with the reopening of the local go-kart track, there is now good news.

The Andorra Automobile Club and Motorcycle Federation have worked with the invaluable collaboration of Raul Romero (owner of the Avintia team and partner of the circuit), Ruben Xaus, Alex Bercianos and the sponsorship of Credit Andorra to make it available to train the riders .

To ensure the safety of the drivers, the biologist Joel Lopez has validated a health protocol. In addition, no more than 10 drivers are allowed to be on the track at the same time, so it was decided to split them into two groups.

Group 1: Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar), Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT), Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team .)) Gresini), Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Racing), Jorge Martin (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Albert Arenas (Aspar Team Gaviota).

Group 2: John McPhee (Petronas Sprinta Racing), Xavier Simeon (LCR E-Team), Xavi Cardelus (Avintia Esponsorama Racing), Chaz Davies, Xavi Fores, Leon Camier, Jules Cluzel, Hector Barbera, Randy de Puniet, Freddie Foret and Michael Fudala.

It’s just training, but we can be sure that with the names on the list everyone involved will have a lot of fun …
