MotoGP, Pernat: “Quartararo is the king, but Aprilia is the queen of Silverstone”

The Silverstone Grand Prix caused a lot of excitement and two main protagonists, namely a Fabio Quartararo, who was more and more on the way to winning the title, and a great Aprilia, who finally conquered her first podium in MotoGP with a fantastic Aleix Espargarò. As always, our on-site man Carlo Pernat commented on the race over a glass of Prosecco and also commented on the accident between Marc Marquez and Jorge Martìn.

“You could see in practice that a lot of drivers would fight for victory. Quartararo put the world championship crown on his head, he won big by making a risky choice with the soft front tire. Others did too, but he benefited, Bagnaia did not.

“Ducati lost here, Bagnaia had the same tire problems here as on other occasions and we need to understand what happened. Miller is almost back on his feet, but he has to do better because he’s not the same Jack we saw earlier in the season when he won races. At this point, Quartararo is the one who drives the best and more evenly.

“It was a tire grand prix, Valentino himself had problems with the rear. Anyone who set the switch in front had problems and it is difficult to get the bike right in this situation. Michelin has to work on it, something like that shouldn’t happen.

“Then there is one point I want to talk about and I have to give the race management two. What Marc Marquez did today is not nice. He aimed at Martìn, made him fall and could have injured him. You can’t race like that and in my opinion the race management has to make sporting decisions, including political ones, and for me there should also be a disqualification for a GP. I understand that Marc is going through a difficult time, but he cannot do such a maneuver, it cannot be justified. This situation is the result of the past because no action has been taken in the past and this is the result.

“Today, however, the Queen is Aprilia, if Quartararo is the King. First podium in MotoGP today in a very difficult category. Aleix Espargarò was good, he held out against Miller until the end and gave the Noale manufacturer the first podium it deserves. “
