Ducati took podiums in both races at the Red Bull Ring, but neither Johann Zarco nor Jack Miller could capitalize on the chaos to bolster their positions in the drivers’ championship. Catastrophically for the latter, a fall in the Styrian race more than two weeks ago slowed down any momentum he had hoped for a title challenge, and team-mate Bagnaia is now Quartararo’s closest challenger on the way to Silverstone, albeit with 47 points drifting.

BT Sport’s monopoly on live MotoGP racing ended this year when ITV was shown two live races, and the British Grand Prix is the second of them (after the French GP earlier this year). The entire race will be broadcast live on the main ITV channel on Sunday. The coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. BST with a presentation by Matt Roberts.
