MotoGP, Marquez and Honda in Aragon return to one of the most successful circuits

This is the 13th GP in MotorLand Aragon. The track hosted an event for the first time in 2010 and became the sixth Spanish circuit
to Jerez, Catalunya, Jarama, Montjuich and Valencia. Aragon is one of five counterclockwise routes on the
Standard calendar, together with Austin, Sachsenring, Phillip Island and Valencia.

Honda’s last MotoGP win here: Marc Marquez from pole position in 2019. Honda is the most successful manufacturer here with
seven MotoGP victories: Casey Stoner 2011, Dani Pedrosa 2012 and Marc Marquez 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019.

Yamaha has three wins in MotoGP in MotorLand with Jorge Lorenzo 2014 and 2015 and Franco Morbidelli in 2020/2
(Teruel).

Ducati’s only MotoGP victory in Aragon: Casey Stoner won the first race in Aragon in 2010 from pole position.

Also on the podium with Nicky Hayden since Stoner’s 2010 win, Ducati had five podiums: Cal Crutchlow (third in
2014), Jorge Lorenzo (third in 2017), Andrea Dovizioso (second in 2018 and ’19) and Jack Miller third in 2019.

Suzuki’s only MotoGP win in Aragon: Alex Rins at the 2020 Aragon GP.

Aprilia’s best result in MotorLand: Sixth for Aleix Espargaro in 2017 and 2018. A sixth place was Aprilia’s best
Result in MotoGP (since 2002) until Aleix Espargaro finished third in the 2021 British GP.

KTM’s best result in MotorLand: Fourth for Pol Espargaro 2020/2 (Teruel).

Spanish drivers are very successful in all classes in Aragon and have won 24 of the 36 races so far.

The only non-Spanish riders with a win on the track are Casey Stoner (MotoGP 2010, 2011), Andrea Iannone (Moto2
2010), Romano Fenati (Moto3 2014), Miguel Oliveira (Moto3 2015), Sam Lowes (Moto2 2016, 2020/1,
2020/2), Franco Morbidelli (Moto2 2017 and MotoGP 2020/2) and Brad Binder (Moto2 2018, 2019).

Casey Stoner’s victories, Andrea Dovizioso’s second place in 2018 and 2019 and Franco Morbidelli’s victory in
2020/2 the only time that a non-Spanish rider was on the first two steps of the podium in MotoGP in Aragon.

Since 2010, only two riders have won the MotoGP race in Aragon from pole position: Casey Stoner (2010, 2011) and Marc
Marquez (2013, 2016, 2019). Marquez was on pole five of seven races in the MotoGP ™ in Aragon.

MotorLand Aragon is one of only five tracks on which Valentino Rossi drove in the premier class and did not achieve a victory
together with Austin, the Red Bull Ring, Buriram and Istanbul.
