Jack Miller finished fastest on day one of the Aragon MotoGP, while Marc Marquez suffered an early accident at Turn 16.

As at the end of FP1, Marquez left with the same soft rear tire, which could be a preview of Sunday’s race. As the track temperature has risen significantly since this morning, a lot of hard tires were used in the front, including Marquez.
But just as everything seemed to be going smoothly for the eight-time world champion, that changed when he crashed into Turn 16.
Marquez slowed himself down after misjudging the speed at which Brother Alex Marquez was approaching on the back straight.

Shortly after Marquez fell, Francesco Bagnaia also crashed at turn five, but the Ducati rider, unlike Marquez, got away without any significant damage to his bike.
While all of this was happening, Takaaki Nakagami was the fastest – P2 in the combined time, 15 minutes behind.

During the second runs, the hard rear tire seemed to be the favorite as Joan Mir looked impressive. However, Marquez seemed to be struggling with the harder tire.
Nakagami remained fastest until four minutes before the end, while Aleix Espargaro was then faster. Jack Miller was then fastest overall with over four tenths of a second.
Miller and Espargaro’s first two remained unchanged, while Cal Crutchlow finished him in third place as the top Yamaha in an impressive final run.
Late excitement by the Ducati’s of Johann Zarco, Jorge Martin and Bagnaia led them to split Crutchlow and Quartararo (seventh).
Marquez dropped to eighth overall and 18th in the session, while Nakagami and Enea Bastianini completed the combined top ten.
