MotoGP, Martin’s accident data: 7 peaks at over 20G on impact

Jorge Martin’s fall during FP3 at Turn 7 at the Portimao GP was terrible and not without consequences for the Pramac team rider, who was operated on in Barcelona on Wednesday. There are now data released by Alpinestars that were collected by the airbag system on his suit during the accident that confirm the violent impact.

The graphics speak for themselves and tell of a fall that lasted 5.2 seconds, with seven different peaks of impact, all over 20 G, the highest even over 26 G. And that’s not all. Martin’s body had to endure four 25G spikes in just 3 seconds. As always, the protective equipment prevented the worst, Martin only suffered a few breaks. Now it is time for him to relax with the aim of returning to his Ducati in Mugello.
