Repsol Honda Team completes productive Misano test

When the second day of running in Misano began, there was no rain to be seen, both sides of the Repsol Honda team garage were doing a lot of laps before the lunch break. Both drivers used the day to try out a number of components for the future of the RC213V and to work on plans for the final races in 2021.

Pol Espargaro was once again one of the main protagonists of the test, spending the majority of the morning session racing in and among the top 5. It was a busy day with Espargaro splitting his time between different bikes to deepen his understanding of the current RC213V and to help Honda HRC with possible future developments. He achieved his best time of the day in lap 33 of 37 in the afternoon, with 1’31,926 he was sixth on the last day of the race.

Marc Marquez had another busy day at Misano when he did more laps on the Italian track. As one of the last riders to hit the track on Wednesday, Marquez was determined to make the most of the track time available to understand what he and Honda HRC need in the months ahead. On Wednesday with a best time of 1’32.151 minutes, Marquez finished the day as the tenth fastest driver and just over half a second behind Aleix Espargaro’s fastest lap.

The Repsol Honda Team is now packing up and preparing for the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas on Sunday, October 3rd.
