Australian Jack Miller stormed third in Aragon’s MotoGP, taking his third podium of the year and raising hopes of a similar result in his home race at Phillip Island next month.
The Pramac Ducati rider finished behind the winner Marc Marquez, who took his eighth win of the year on the factory Honda, and Ducati rider Andrea Dovizioso.
Miller was strong all weekend, starting from fourth on the grid and driving a well-engineered race, pounding Yamaha rider Maverick Vinales on the penultimate lap.
“It’s a great way to end this part of the European season. I just tried to take care of the rear tire, ”he said after his third podium of the season.
“I didn’t want to be tempted to chase Marc too hard, destroy the tire and end up just being a sitting duck.

“I just went my pace. Mav came by but he was trying to chase Marc and towards the end he just struggled through the long corners … so I just stayed cool and got it home on the podium. ”
Miller said he will head to Townsville for a short family vacation before the next race in Thailand on October 6.
The result in Aragon after an already stable season gives Miller and his fans real hope for a strong result in his home race on Phillip Island from October 25th to 27th.
Marquez was nearing his sixth MotoGP title, dominated the race from pole position and was never really challenged.
He now has 300 points ahead of Dovizioso with 202.
The Italian was happy about his second place and drove through the field from starting position 10.

Vinales finished fourth ahead of French rookie Fabio Quartararo on a Yamaha, then British Honda riders Cal Crutchlow, Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) and Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) eighth.
Miller is eighth in the championship, just six behind Quartararo.
