Mick Doohan, the five-time champion in Repsol Honda colors in the 1990s, has no doubt that Honda’s weak momentum depends not only on Marc Marquez’s form but also on the bike.
‘I think He [Marc Márquez] is out of shape at the moment. I think the bike has also failed a bit [the track], The Honda is clearly not the bike it was before … Marc now has some strength in his right arm and I think that was the problem, ”Doohan told the In the Fast Lane podcast.
It should be remembered that Honda has had one of the worst seasons in modern times since Marc Márquez stopped fighting for victories on a regular basis after his serious injury early last season.
