“The Portimão accident changed my life and I thought I wasn’t going back to MotoGP” – Jorge Martín

As another lap at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve approached in Portugal, Jorge Martín remembered the injury he sustained in April last year and how it had affected his life.

“Coming into MotoGP as a rookie and getting a podium in race two was fantastic, but then I got a big injury and I didn’t expect to be on the podium again this year. I’ve learned a lot since Portimão and I’ve changed a lot how I look at the races and when I get to a new lap on Friday I’m a lot calmer and I try to understand where I can improve and take risks because I certainly don’t want to make the same mistake, ‘said the driver on the official website of the competition.

Then the # 89 explained that the serious injury he had suffered had a huge impact on his life and that he even thought he would never drive again.

– It definitely changed my life because I thought I wasn’t going to go back to a MotoGP bike and then again podiums, pole positions, that’s amazing.
