Repsol Honda Team Manager Alberto Puig has worked with some of the great protagonists of the modern MotoGP era, from Marc Márquez, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa. But of all these miracles, he argues, none like Marc Marquez.
“I was very lucky with so many super talented drivers like Dani. to be able to work together [Pedrosa], Casey [Stoner], Jörg [Lorenzo] and Marc [Márquez]. All of them special champions, but this kid has more. With Marc everything is on a different planet. Obviously, from a competitive standpoint, this guy is an animal. When you put on your helmet and hit the track, you know something special is about to happen. And you know that he’s very easy to talk to and work with because he never became a superstar. Aside from his ability to ride, he’s still a very smart kid and that is important. He wants to have a team like a family and knows how to create this environment. Just ask for something and the team will take care of the rest, “said Puig in an interview with Roadracing World before revealing that he hopes Márquez can come back even stronger after the injury and the long break:
– His mentality will be the same because he doesn’t change his mentality. He will have more experience after what happened and I am sure that he will develop even stronger.
