2020 starts in Valencia

The action at Circuit Ricardo Tormo resumed when 2020 kicked off in earnest with the traditional post-season test of 2020 riders from the Repsol Honda Team.

Marc Marquez started his 2020 title defense two days after his sensational 12th win in 2019. Marc started working his way through a busy day in Valencia early on. He suffered a fall at Turn 13 shortly after 1:00 p.m. local time, but was uninjured and returned to running shortly after lunch. After a total of 60 laps, the reigning world champion had a productive day and was fifth fastest with 1’30.698.

On the first day of testing, Moto2 World Champion Alex Marquez tested the new RC213V for the first time. Alex was the victim of a harmless crash at Turn 10 on lap eight that morning. Shortly before lunch, Alex returned to the track and completed 53 laps on his debut as an HRC driver with a best time of 1’32.873 on his penultimate lap.

Another day of running awaits the drivers on the Valencia circuit before heading to Jerez for the final laps of the 2019 calendar.
