MotoGP, Quartararo admits completely lost in Valencia: “I don’t understand anything”

It was a disappointing Friday in Valencia for Fabio Quartararo. Wet or dry, the French didn’t seem to care, who had to deal with an eleventh place with a bitter aftertaste at the end of free practice. As if that weren’t enough, the Yamaha rider had to cope with a fall on Turn 2.

No consequences for him, even if his face showed disappointment about what had happened.

To be honest, I don’t understand anything, I’m totally lost – commented Fabio – I have different feelings than usual and I don’t know why. Today I struggled with the Yamaha everywhere, the bike was super aggressive and, among other things, I couldn’t even brake the way I wanted, although I know that braking is our strength. It’s really strange what’s going on: I can’t wait to get back into the garage and talk to the mechanics and engineers “.

Then turn the page and start over …

“I’m disappointed, because until yesterday I always pushed hard, today it’s completely different. Unfortunately the M1 seems nervous, I have problems, I am slow and it is really difficult to set lap times and be consistent. In some ways the difficulties are similar to last year, even if I couldn’t shoot in 2020. Now I’m having a hard time, especially at the front. So we have to find a solution. “

As already mentioned, there was also a crash in FP2.

“In the afternoon the feelings were terrible and I don’t know why. I’ve driven like this since Qatar, but something is not working here in Valencia and it’s strange. “

For 2022, however, Fabio knows exactly what he wants.

“I want the same bike as this year, but with a higher top speed. I have to concentrate on that, then we will need more grip and curves, but in the end that is all we want. “
