Joan has said more than once that he feels a little hated among Spanish fans. Although he doesn’t think he knows the reasons, he assures him that he doesn’t care.
In an interview with the website Sport.es, the 2020 MotoGP champion hinted that the hatred they harbor for themselves might stem from envy, as he doesn’t think he gives reasons for it. In any case, he emphasized that his only concern was to be valued by the manufacturers and the teams:
– Really, I don’t know, envy maybe … I don’t know where that comes from because I’m not a rider who engages in intrigues, although I really don’t care. I live by and for motorcycles, I try to be the best at what I do and I put all my energy into it. After people appreciate it or not, it’s like mine. The ones who need to appreciate me are the teams and the manufacturers.
