Positive for the future – Repsol Honda Team completes Jerez test

The 2021 MotoGP World Championship season is officially coming to an end as the winter testing ban is imposed after two busy days in Jerez, Espargaro is a struggling fourth.

The Repsol Honda team continued to follow their testing program on day two at Jerez, with Pol Espargaro at the helm while Takaaki Nakagami and Alex Marquez push ahead with work for 2022. The two-day test continued to focus on understanding the direction for 2022.

Espargaro’s day began with validating the last remaining pieces of the current Honda machine before turning his attention to the future. Pol Espargaro worked through a number of chassis and engine options, and also evaluated several aero options for the RC213V. Despite strong winds, the results were positive on all fronts. The # 44 set a best time of 1’37.496 over 46 laps and finished the day in fourth. His best lap time was on his last lap on the track.

Despite being somewhat limited by his physical condition, Espargaro and Honda HRC were able to complete a number of important tasks. Honda HRC leaves Jerez happy with the job well done and is now preparing for a busy winter before the 2022 MotoGP World Championship resumes on February 5th in Sepang for the first test of the new year.
