2022 Yamaha R15 V4 launched
India was the first country to receive the new generation of the R15 V4 – now it has come onto the market with updates in Indonesia
In September 2021, Yamaha Motor India launched three sporty offers in the 155 cc segment, including the New R15 V4, R15M and Aerox 155. After India, Yamaha now has the sporty new R15 V4 and the R15M in Indonesia Brought to market.
In India these range from Rs 1.71 lakh to Rs 1.83 lakh, ex-sh. In Indonesia, prices start between IDR 38.9 million for the R15 V4 and IDR 43.5 million for the R15M. This, converted into Indian currency, is around Rs 2.03 lakh to Rs 2.27 lakh.
2022 Yamaha R15 V4 and R15M
In Indonesia, these new R15 155cc motorcycles will be launched as 2022 models. A total of four colors are offered. These are white (the racing blood of Yamaha), silver (R15M), black and Icon Blue. The functions offered are similar to those of the R15 V4 and R15M specified in India. In contrast to India, which also has the R15S on offer, no such motorcycle has yet been launched in Indonesia.
The new R15 is inspired by its larger, medium-weight supersport counterpart, the R7. It gets a completely new front apron, new body graphics, a muscular fuel tank and a redesigned visor. New fairings, exhausts, and color options are also part of its makeover.

The new Yamaha R15M is sportier than the R15 V4. Both get an instrument cluster with a fully digital LCD instrument panel activated by Yamaha’s Y-Connect connectivity function and Bluetooth connectivity. It has LED headlights and taillights, as well as LED daytime running lights, unlike its predecessor, which received twin headlights, and rides on wide radial rear tires with colored alloy wheels.

The additional functions of the new Yamaha R15 V4 and R15M also include an engine shut-off switch. In India, the R15 V4 will be presented in the three colors Racing Blue, Dark Knight and Metallic Red, while the R15M will be presented in Metallic Gray, and the R15M Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition was also launched with MotoGP branding.
Yamaha R15 V4, R15M engine specifications
The Yamaha R15 V4 and R15M share the same range of engines and receive a 155cc, liquid-cooled single cylinder engine with fuel injection technology. The engine develops 18.6 hp and 14.1 Nm torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
It also receives Yamaha’s VVA or Variable Valve Actuation technology. The suspension is provided by a USD or upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock damper at the rear. Braking is done with disc brakes at both ends with two-channel ABS as standard. Yamaha R15 V4 competes with the KTM RC200, RC125 and the Gixxer SF.
