Marc Marquez takes a mighty victory at Assen in one of the best MotoGP races of all time

The 70th Dutch TT in Assen will probably long be remembered by bike fans all over the world as one of the best MotoGP races in the history of the series; the eight protagonists for a podium place in today’s 26-round fight will surely remember it that way.

The fight started when the lights went out and didn’t end until the checkered flag identified the top 3 drivers who battled in the tightest top 15 of all time.

At this point Marc Marquez was finally two seconds behind the chasing group, but until about three laps before the end he fought with Rins, Viñales, Dovizioso, Rossi and Lorenzo without a moment’s break.

The world champion finally prevailed against all his opponents and took his 65th career win and 39th in MotoGP and extended his lead in the world rankings to 41 over Valentino Rossi.

Dani Pedrosa struggled to find good pace in the early stages and couldn’t make up any ground after starting from the back of the grid. Step by step he improved his speed and finished the race in 15th place.
