Wilco Zeelenberg says Johan Stigefelt’s departure hasn’t caused much change at the RNF MotoGP Team

In the process of «transformation» to WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team, Razlan Razali’s MotoGP lineup didn’t have the same structure – since Johan Stigefelt, until 2021 Team Manager, left. Nothing with considerable implications, according to his successor Wilco Zeelenberg, who was already in the Malaysian group.

At a press conference, the official assured that the departure of Johan Stigefelt didn’t imply considerable changes in management, not least because the former manager was more focused on projects in the lower categories – which stopped after Petronas partnership came to an end:

– Not much has changed, in most things Razlan will follow what Johan was doing, because Johan was more controlling Moto2 and Moto3, and also behind the scenes preparing the financial situation – but nothing else. It’s not what we’re doing here when we’re on the track – controlling the team, inspiring people and trying to guide them on the right path to make the right decisions, giving them the confidence to do so. I think this is my strong point and I can still do it like before. So in that sense it doesn’t change much for me.
