Franco Morbidelli with doubts about performance in race distance

Franco Morbidelli felt competitive on used tires throughout the MotoGP tests at Mandalika. However, completing a race distance of several consecutive laps is still dealing with the unknown.

The Monster Energy Yamaha man has had his training sessions severely restricted throughout the winter due to a right knee injury, from which he has only just recovered – with some activities he will only start doing now.

Asked about his prospects for long distance performance, Morbidelli admitted that at the moment it is an unknown, and intense training on a physical level is essential before the start of the season:

– It’s difficult, difficult. I felt good on used tyres, I was fast on used tyres. But I don’t know about doing consecutive laps; let’s see. We will have to intensify the aerobic training until Qatar, and then we will see.
