Gigi Dall’Igna wants Ducati to take it all this year in MotoGP

Ducati launched this monday its MotoGP team for 2022, once again with riders Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller, and now with a Desmosedici GP22 that also changes the shade of its red colours. Gigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, didn’t hide his ambitions, which now involve doing the full thing – joining the riders’ title to the constructors’ and teams’ titles won last year.

The manager said in a statement: ‘We are thrilled to start this new season. In 2021, we achieved important goals by winning our third constructors’ title, our second teams’ title and closing the riders’ Championship in second place with Francesco Bagnaia’.

About the runner-up specifically, Dall’Igna anticipated: ‘Pecco grew a lot during the last Grands Prix of last year, scoring four wins and nine podiums. We are sure that he will be one of the main contenders in the Championship this season’.

As for Jack Miller, the italian official said: ‘Alongside him will be Jack Miller, who showed his talent on several occasions last year, scoring five podiums, including two thrilling victories, and who, like Pecco, has the potential to challenge for the title’.

Despite acknowledging that the task and the season will be tough, Dall’Igna expressed confidence in the work and how exquoted he is to see the action to begin: ‘It is obvious that it will not be easy and we know that the fight for the championship will be even more close; there are several strong riders and rival factories have also worked hard over the winter to get an even more competitive package. However, in the last few months we have also pushed ourselves hard to try to give Pecco and Jack a Desmosedici GP22 that will allow them to be protagonists in any race and in any condition. It will be a very tough season with 21 Grands Prix currently confirmed, but we are prepared and looking very much forward to hitting the track to reap the rewards of our hard work’.
