MotoGP Qatar: When is the Qatar race? Who is on pole? qualifying results | Other | Sports

Defending champion Marc Marquez traveled to the Losail International Circuit hoping to lay down a marker for the season ahead.

The Spanish racer has won back-to-back MotoGP titles and has the chance to secure the fifth of his career this year.

That would put Marquez within two of motorsport legend Valentino Rossi, who last took home the trophy in 2009.

Marquez will start second on the grid to Johann Zarco, while the likes of Andrea Dovizioso, Maverick Vinales and Dani Pedrosa will be looking to be in the mix in Qatar too.

Here’s how you can watch the first race of the 2018 MotoGP campaign live on TV and online.

When is MotoGP Qatar?

The Gulf Oil Grand Prix starts at 4pm today.

That comes after two practice sessions for the race took place at the Losail International Circuit on Friday.

The final practice got underway at 11.35am (GMT) yesterday morning.

Back-to-back qualifying sessions took place at 4.20pm and 4.25pm yesterday.

Frenchman Johann Zarco is on pole, with defending champions Marc Marquez behind him.

It therefore looks as though it will be a battle between Tech 3 Yamaha and Honda once again!
