Quartararo meets young Promo RACC riders

French rider Fabio Quartararo, who is set to make his Moto3™ World Championship debut in 2015, met with young riders at a Promovelocidad RACC event this week.

The winner of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ title over the last two years was previously a participant in the Promovelocidad Cup, as were fellow graduates Marc and Alex Marquez, Aleix and Pol Espargaro, Maverick and Isaac Viñales, Alex Rins, Tito Rabat, Ricky Cardus, Jordi Torres and Toni Elias.

From the age of seven, youngsters riding in the ‘Promo RACC’ have the opportunity to participate in three different categories – 50cc, 70cc and 80cc.

Quartararo commented, “When I decided to become a rider the Promo RACC had more than 50 riders, but in France there were only a few. I came with my family because I knew that I’d only be able to make progress here in Catalunya. I started competing and moving up step by step. I learned how to control my nerves in each race and became more and more focused.”

Looking ahead to next season he said, “There are four months before the first race in Qatar. I’m waiting for it to start, but mainly this year I want to enjoy it and learn about all these circuits that I don’t know. Every rider starts like this in Grand Prix. I have to work hard because I want to be at the front with the best riders.”
