Are the 2021 issues resolved? ‘We have tools to fight for good positions’ – Miguel Oliveira

Miguel Oliveira ended his pre-season today with a 15th place in the combined times and an 11th best lap in this last day of testing. Following an uneven year in 2021 – where he won and made podiums, but also had races to forget about – the KTM rider was asked today if the problems that arose in the previous season had been resolved.

‘I think we have more margin to improve a couple of aspects. I believe that our bike will be more competitive, just like our opponents. Where we will be on the grid, I don’t know, but I feel that we have good tools to fight for good positions’, the portuguese told motogp.com.

As for how he will face the start of the season in Qatar, Oliveira recalls that the situation is different now compared to last year:

– Last season we had two races there [in Qatar] and we had tested there before, so everyone was pretty good in terms of setup and everyone was riding at the limit. This season it will be a little different, we will arrive in Qatar without having tested there. The track is always a little dirty. We will see, it will be interesting to see and run. We have a bike that can put us in a good position.
