Enea Bastianini and Gresini Racing lead the Independent Standings

The third round of the MotoGP season has concluded and with it the standings for riders and independent teams have changed. However, the lead and the second position of the table remains intact with Enea Bastianini and Johann Zarco.

In that sense, the Italian is the only one who managed to score in all races this season and now holds a total of 36 points. Johann Zarco remained in second place and now owns 24 points and a gap of another 12 for the Gresini rider.

In third place is the first change in the table: Jorge Martin. The Pramac Spaniard crashed out in both first races and made up for that lack of results with a second place now in Argentina. For Bastianini, the gap is 16 points. In fourth and fifth places remain Takaaki Nakagami and Luca Marini with the same 10 points.

In the fight for the standings of independent teams, Pramac is the one that is best positioned. The team based in the United Kingdom takes the reins of the table with the second place of Martin, having the team 44 points. Gresini Racing MotoGP lost the lead in the championship and is now the second best place, holding an eight point difference to the top. Finally, Valentino Rossi’s team, the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, moved up a couple of places and is now third best with 17 total points recorded.
