Rins can be said to be satisfied with his qualifying session; after gaining direct access to Q2, the Spaniard conquered the third row next to his teammate.
“It was a positive day – Alex declared – we managed to improve compared to Friday and I’m thrilled with the feelings on the bike, especially with the soft rear. However, we must remain calm, considering that tomorrow’s race will be a long one, even though the starting position is not bad ”.
As with many other riders, Alex is fully focused on the track, as well as on the weather.
“It seems it will rain in the morning, while in the afternoon it should improve. We will then see what happens. Here the weather is unpredictable and there may even be a flag to flag. The priority will be to remain calm regardless of what the weather conditions will be. Personally I prefer a dry race, but if it rains it will be interesting for everyone ”.
Finally, attention turned to the meeting that took place yesterday in the Safety Commission.
“We talked about a few things about this track, as well as about Finland, as there are some concerns from the riders. I think in the end we will go racing anyway, although there are some questions related to the track, because it is narrow and we lap in third and fourth gear ”.
In addition to the track, there was also talk of contracts in the Safety Commission.
“For example, we talked about the Fenati case and about some things that happen to the riders in the minor categories. If a rider has a contract the team must respect it unless it pays a penalty or at least there is a minimum wage to be respected. Or you can go in front of a sort of arbitrator who decides how to resolve the situation from an economic and contractual point of view”.
Carmelo Ezpeleta was also present at the meeting, the Spaniard mentioning the difficult market situation, confirmed by Suzuki’s withdrawal.
