Ducati leads among manufacturers where Honda is last; Aprilia is the best team

At the end of the first seven races of the championship, the riders look at the general standings in order to understand where they are. However, championship accounts are also important for the different manufacturers and teams, as this also matters for the brands present in the championship.

Then, and at the end of this Le Mans weekend, Ducati is the best manufacturer after adding 156 points since Qatar. Since the start of the championship, at least one Desmosedici has taken the podium, with Johann Zarco’s third place at Mandalika being the Italian manufacturer’s worst result. In second place is Yamaha, who have won just one race against Ducati’s four, with 102 points and a delay of more than 50 points for the lead. Closing the podium is Aprilia, which has three points less than Yamaha and is 57 points away from the Borgo Panigale factory.

Out of the top three, but close to the podium is KTM, which to date has 84 points and just one win in seven races, as does Aprilia. Suzuki occupies the fifth position with 80 points, four less than KTM, and owns a 76 point delay to Ducati. In last place is Honda with 67 points and without recording any victory this year, as well as Suzuki. The difference to Ducati is 89 points, in a season where Pol Espargaro’s podium in Qatar is the only top three that Minato’s brand has recorded in 2022.

Regarding the team championship, the situation is quite different. Aprilia Racing is the most consistent team after seven Grands Prix with Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales accumulating a total of 131 points to date. Team Suzuki Ecstar lost its lead in the championship with the retirement of both riders at Le Mans, but is still in second place with six points less than the Aprilia team. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP remains in third place with 10 points less than the lead, being one of the teams that has managed to score in every race to date.

In fourth place is the Ducati Lenovo Team, being the last to surpass the 100 point margin. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing occupies fifth place ahead of Gresini Racing MotoGP and the Repsol Honda Team which, in turn, is the factory team with the fewest points (94) at this time. Pramac Racing, LCR Honda and Mooney VR46 Racing Team close their access to the top ten with Valentino Rossi’s team owning 40 points. WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team and Tech3 KTM Factory Racing occupy the last positions with 14 and three points respectively.
